Established in 1970, Diagnostic Chemicals Limited (DCL) is headquartered in Prince Edward Island, Canada. DCL manufactures medical diagnostic products, specialty chemicals, enzymes and pharmaceutical intermediates. All manufacturing is accomplished in the Canadian facility which was recently registered to the ISO 9001-1994 Quality Standard. (ISO 9001-1994 is an internationally recognized standard for quality assurance systems incorporating requirements for product design and development, production, installation and servicing.) The company's wholly owned subsidiary, Diagnostic Chemicals Limited (USA), is their center for distribution, technical service, sales and marketing in the United States. With its out-of-state sales and support offices, DCL (USA) employs 15 inside staff and five external salespeople - co-ordinating the Company's U.S. and international efforts. Staff in Canadian and U.S. offices work closely technically as well as creatively to promote DCL products. DCL (USA) was formed in Monroe, Connecticut in 1983. They relocated in 1989 to their present Oxford location, where it initially occupied a former residence on the property. In August 1996, construction of its new headquarters was completed on the adjacent lot. The new 12,500 sq. ft. building consists of two floors of office, warehouse and laboratory space.

DCL uses Advantage 2000's lot tracking module to control the very complex job of knowing who, when, and where each lot of each chemical was sent. As you can imagine, this job would be virtually impossible if done by hand. While their requirements are out of range for most other software packages, the Panasoft system provides the needed information right at their fingertips.

DCL uses a Gateway processor running SCO UNIX for Panasoft's Business Software. This processor is linked to a Microsoft NT network for desktop jobs such as word processing and spreadsheets.
